One of the smallest Camping In The Forest managed New Forest campsites, The Matley Wood Caravan Park and Campsite is located on the Beaulieu Road (B3056) just a couple of miles east of Lyndhurst, the unofficial capital of the New Forest.
About one mile in the other direction is Beaulieu Road Station and the well-known Beaulieu Road Pony Sales yard. The campsite is a short walk from neighbouring Denny Wood campsite.
Nestled snuggly amongst the oak and beech trees of Matley Wood, the caravan park and campsite is in a prime location for exploring the surrounding New Forest, with good walking and cycling tracks nearby.
There are no toilet or shower facilities on this site, so a chemical toilet is required. There is also no office, visitors wishing to stay on this site need to report to Denny Wood campsite just down the road. Unlike Denny Wood, dogs are permitted on this site (+£1/night/dog up to 3).
Campsite facilities: 70 standard pitches, seasonal pitches available, recycling bins, dogs welcome (+£1/night/dog up to 3). Report to Denny Wood office for a permit.
The site is open from 29th March until 1st October.

How to get to Matley Wood Caravan Park & Campsite
The site is approximately two miles east of Lyndhurst, on the B3056 road to Beaulieu. Coming from Lyndhurst, you’ll pass open heathland on the left of the road, Matley Wood is the first main area of trees you’ll see on the left, as the heathland ends. Take the first gravel entrance into the campsite, the second one is just a car park.
Coming from the Beaulieu direction, pass the Beaulieu Road Hotel and station on your left, carry on for another mile or so and follow the road past Denny Wood campsite and round the sharp right hand bend, Matley is at the top of the hill on the right.
